In 1970 BMW Motorcycles introduced a 750 cc motorcycle. The new BMW R75/5. The BMW R75/5 motorcycle used a completely redesigned BMW motor. The BMW R75/5 produced more power and included an electric starter. In 1974 BMW introduced the BMW R75/6 motorcycle which was continued through to 1976. The last year for the BMW R75 series and was 1977, this model was known as the BMW R75/7 which was replaced by the BMW R80/7.
